馃捈 Duty and VAT exemption for essential goods intended for flood victims 馃捈
鈻讹笍 The Ministry of Finance has announced that essential goods, such as food, medicine, clothing, and bedding, intended for free distribution to flood victims by government bodies and authorized charitable organizations, will be exempt from customs duties.
馃搶 Additionally, medicines, clothing, and foodstuffs imported by social organizations or entities engaged in charitable or humanitarian activities are exempt from VAT. However, it is important to note that VAT exemption only applies when the duty exemption is also in effect.
鈩癸笍 These exemptions are regulated by Article 61 of Council Regulation (EC) No 1186/2009. Charitable organizations wishing to benefit from these exemptions must meet specific accounting and operational requirements as outlined in the Regulation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of March 10, 2011.
