? We invite you to an update on Classification Regulations.
▶️ At the beginning of September, we are presenting a summary of the regulations published in recent months.
✔️ On the last day of July, a new classification regulation was issued:
1️⃣ Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/2136 of 31 July 2024 on the classification of certain goods in the Combined Nomenclature.
▶️ This regulation concerns the classification of a mixture of chemical compounds, which often poses challenges for those who are not specialists or enthusiasts in chemistry.
▶️ The justification for the classification notes the exclusion of the mixture from Chapter 29 due to the significant concentration of one of the components. The product is therefore considered a mixture that cannot be classified as a chemically defined organic compound consisting of a single type of molecule, as per Note 1(a) to Chapter 29 (see the Harmonized System Explanatory Notes to Chapter 29, General Notes, point A, first paragraph).

? The regulation is effective from 27.08.2024.
ℹ️ A Binding Tariff Information (BTI) that does not comply with the classification regulations may be applied for a maximum of 3 months from the date these regulations come into effect, under the conditions specified in Article 34(9) of the Union Customs Code (EUR-Lex – 02013R0952-20221212 – PL – EUR-Lex (europa.eu)).
