馃搯 The restrictions will take effect on September 15, 2024.
鈩癸笍 Antimony is a metalloid used in electronics, metal alloys, and the chemical industry. It is a crucial component in the production of photovoltaic cells, batteries, fire-resistant materials, as well as military equipment and nuclear weapons.
鈩癸笍 China, the largest producer of antimony, accounts for 48% of global supply. Other major producers include Myanmar, Turkey, and Tajikistan. Approximately 20% of global antimony is used in photovoltaic glass production, with the rest primarily used in lead-acid batteries.
鈩癸笍 The increasing importance of antimony in military technology and its limited supply have led to its price doubling this year, exceeding $22,000 per ton.
