鈩癸笍 HMRC has announced a delay in the requirement to submit Safety and Security (S&S) declarations for EU imports into the UK, meaning the final stage of the UK鈥檚 Border Target Operating Model (BTOM) will now be implemented on 馃憠 January 31, 2025.
鈻讹笍 This extension is intended to provide businesses with more time to prepare for the new customs requirements.
馃敻 However, HMRC encourages those that are already prepared, especially for non-EU imports, to begin submitting declarations earlier.
馃敻 These declarations, which are part of post-Brexit customs regulations, aim to enhance the security of goods entering the UK from the EU. They must be submitted before the goods reach the border, but there is flexibility to amend details before arrival. The declarations include information such as the number of packages, weight, and estimated time of arrival.
