🌿 European Parliament Approves Commission’s Proposal to Delay EUDR Implementation by One Year 🌿

Today, the European Parliament officially adopted the European Commission’s proposal to postpone the application of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products (EUDR) by 12 months. The revised implementation timeline is as follows:
🔹 30 December 2025 – for large enterprises
🔹 30 June 2026 – for micro- and small businesses
🛠️ Key Updates in the Amendment
✔️ Introduction of a new “no-risk” category for countries with stable or increasing forest areas, alongside the existing “low,” “standard,” and “high” risk categories.
✔️ A country benchmarking system to be finalized by 30 June 2025 to streamline due diligence processes for businesses.
📖 Meanwhile, the EUDR Guidance Document has been published in the Official Journal of the EU and is now available in all official EU languages.
💡 What the Delay Means
The additional time provides stakeholders across the EU and beyond with the opportunity to better align with the regulation’s requirements. With new guidance and tools in place, businesses and enforcement authorities can ensure a smoother, more effective implementation of the EUDR.
