? Rusak Trade Compliance News informs:

▶️ The EU has won the appeal filed by the WTO regarding Colombia’s anti-dumping duty on frozen fries. ? ▶️ The arbitration (multilateral interim appeal arbitration MPIA) has ultimately and conclusively ruled that the anti-dumping duties imposed by Colombia on frozen fries from Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands violate the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and restrict access to the Colombian market.
▶️ This decision is a victory for European producers, whose exports to Colombia, valued at over 20 million euros, have been affected by Colombian duties. It also sends a strong signal to any country considering limiting exports from the EU that anti-dumping investigations must fully comply with WTO rules, emphasizing the systemic importance of MPIA.
▶️ In light of the above, Colombia must comply with the ruling within the agreed timeframe with the EU or as set by the WTO arbitrator. If Colombia fails to comply, the EU may obtain WTO authorization to adopt remedial measures.
